Mark Twain House and Museum
One of Hartford’s top attractions, the Mark Twain House and Museum, lies just under two miles away from our property. This historic landmark was home to Samuel Clemens, aka Mark Twain, and his family from 1874 to 1891. It was here that Twain wrote his most famous works, including, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. In addition to exploring the stunning 25-room home, you can visit the on-site museum, and enjoy a Ken Burns documentary about the life of Mark Twain.
Elizabeth Park Conservancy
Visitors looking to add some outdoor time to their itinerary should visit the gorgeous green space of Elizabeth Park Conservancy. This property is just over 100 acres and includes walking trails, formal gardens, a cafe, and more. Elizabeth Park has over 800 varieties of old and new roses growing in the first municipal rose garden in the United States. Catch them in bloom from mid-June through fall.
